Mrs. Bessie Elmer Johnson-James, 85, of 507 Carolina Ave., Williamston, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014 at Martin General Hospital in Williamston. The family will receive friends Sept. 20, 2014 from 12:50 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. at Mount Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 205 North Elm St., Williamston. A funeral will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014 at 2 p.m., following visitation. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston. Arrangements are by Puckett-Purkett Funeral Service of Roper.
