Terry Wayne Cutler, age 69, a resident of Pflugerville, Texas, and formally of Washington, NC, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014. Terry was born in Beaufort County on August 12, 1945, son of the late Wilbur Earl Cutler and Nellie Congleton Cutler. He graduated Bath High School. Terry served his country in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1967. He was married to Connie Martinsen Cutler who survives. Terry was employed with Flanders Filters from 1975 to 1990, which took him to various places. He was most famous for tinkering on his Corvette, which he loved and was an avid NASCAR fan.
In addition to his wife Connie, Terry is survived by his son, Austin Bryan Cutler, his sisters, Sylvia C. (Ted) Hill of Pasadena, Md., Jannie C. Smith of Belhaven, Lorina C. (Dallas) Modlin of Jamesville, and Nellie Mae Cutler of Belhaven; his father and mother in-law, Max and Mary Lou Martinsen of Iowa; and his sisters-in-law, Renee Buddenhagen and Barb LeValley.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Earl Cutler; and his brother-in-laws, Jimmie Smith, Elton Cutler Sr., Don Martinsen and Kenny Martinsen.
A graveside celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 6, 2014, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens officiated by Linwood Adams. Timmy Douglas, Austin Douglas, Issaiah Blackburn, Troy Woolard, Joey Smith, Elton Cutler, Jr., Richard Allen Woolard, Harry Gautier, John Hudachek, Jerry Berman and Laurie Gagnon will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the home of his niece, Mr. and Mrs. Timmy (Cindy) Douglas, 2442 Braddy Road, Washington.
