BRENDA JEAN MILLS

Dec. 31, 1953 – Oct. 12, 2014

 

Brenda Jean Mills, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend departed this life on October 12, 2014 to be with her Lord and Savior after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Paul Funeral Home in Washington, NC by Pastor Phillip Boykin.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service and at other times at the home of her daughter, Nichole Manning, at 228 James Lane, Chocowinity, NC.

Brenda was born December 31, 1953 in Greenville, NC to Eugene and Doris Mills. She attended Winterville schools and DH Conley. Brenda was always a conscientious and hard worker. Her battle with cancer was fought with courage, love, a strong faith in God, and unwavering support from her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Steve Mills and brother Joseph Eugene Mills.

She is survived by her daughter, Nichole Mills Manning, son-in-law Mike, and cherished grandson Michael; sisters Patsy Mills  and husband Harold of Grimesland, Linda Jones  and husband Rob of Chocowinity, Kim Perry and fiancé Allan Wilder of Middlesex; brother Tim Mills and partner Joe LeBlanc of Wilmington; brothers and sisters-in-laws Preston and Josina Mills of Greenville and Fred and Gaynell Mills of Robersonville; nieces and nephews Stacey Mills and husband Roberto Mills, Jennifer Glass, Mark Glass, Lauren and Drew Shaver, Ginger and Daniel Perry, Monica Mills, Albert Mills, and Stephanie Ellis; and adored great nephew Lucas Glass; aunts Magdalene Waters  and Amy Mills of Greenville, Faye Rouse of Winterville, and Lou Ellen Sanders of Ayden; and uncle Bobby Mills and wife Deloris of Winterville. To Brenda, family was a cherished gift and she loved her family beyond all else here on earth, and her family returned that love to Brenda tenfold.
