Joint op nets three arrests

From the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit
On Oct. 21, 2014, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Asa Renee Toler, age 41, of 302 Beach Lane in Washington, Allen Garfield Swanner Jr., age 25, of 6756 Clarks Neck Road in Washington and Ashley Renay Bond, age 25, of 5822 Dean Drive in Washington. Their arrests stemmed from a joint operation between the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit and the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit. Pitt County Investigators were investigating a residence that was suspected in the distribution of marijuana. Beaufort County Investigators were informed of a vehicle that had left from this residence and was travelling on U.S. Highway 264 eastbound travelling toward Washington. Investigators in the Drug Unit conducted a vehicle stop and identified the driver as Allen Swanner Jr. and the passenger as Ashley Bond. K-9 Elza alerted on the vehicle and assisted Investigators in locating a plastic bag containing 120 grams of marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle.
Investigators learned the destination for the marijuana was the residence of Asa Toler at 302 Beach Lane in Washington. Investigators travelled to this location and conducted a search. As a result investigators seized an additional 150 grams of marijuana prepackaged for sale, 24 dosage units of Hydrocodone, 3 dosage units of Methadone and 33 dosage units of Alprazolam. Investigators also seized digital scales and drug packaging material from the residence.
Asa Renee Toler was arrested and charged with level I trafficking in opiates, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of schedule IV controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling to facilitate drug activity and possession of drug paraphernalia. Toler was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond.
Allen Swanner Jr. and Ashley Bond were both arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Swanner and Bond were both issued $10,000 unsecured bonds.
