Thomas Earl Sanderson, Jr., 81, of 621 Main St., Swan Quarter died Sunday, November 16, 2014 at his residence.

Born in Hyde County, August 29, 1933, he was the son of the late Earl Thomas and Adelle Rose Sanderson. He was married to the former Dessie Marie Williams, who survives.

He was a member of the Swan Quarter Christian Church where he served as an elder for several years.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at the Swan Quarter Christian Church. Sonny Furrow, Phil Emmert and Raffael Farrow, Jr., will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot in Soule Cemetery.

In addition to his wife, surviving are two daughters, Elaine S. Spencer and husband Carl of Engelhard and Ruby S. Brickhouse and husband Donnie of Scranton; a sister Lois S. Carawan of Swan Quarter; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and other times at the home.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Community Home Care and Hospice 33460 US Highway 264, Engelhard, NC 27824.
