From Beaufort County United Way

At a recent gathering of donors, funded partner agencies and board members, the Beaufort County United Way announced its community goal of $350,000. The focus in the coming years will be to support programs in the areas of health, income, and education that show measurable progress. We are working with a team of local experts and organizations all across the community to develop specific programs and resources that advance the common good and create long-term social change.

We want to be sure that our programs positively impact people’s lives. Our community is a healthier and more stable community when we all work together to assure that children are successful in school, families are more financially stable, and everyone has good health.

In 2013-14 the funded programs of our community partner agencies improved the lives of 77,563 people — from pre-schoolers to teens to seniors. Ninety-nine percent of donations stay in the county.
