The Washington High School football team is preparing to compete in the NCHSAA Class 2AA state title game. Posing for a photo outside the school Wednesday, they harkened memories of Pam Pack teams through the years and a strong tradition of school spirit.

“We were the 1952 conference champs and went to the State playoffs but lost in the first round to Henderson High School on their rain soaked field,” remembers Jim “Jimmy” Deans, from the WHS class of 1953.
