WILLIAM “PEE WEE” SPAIN

March 19, 1948 – Dec. 15, 2014

 

Mr. William Carlton “Pee Wee” Spain, age 66, a resident of Chocowinity, NC died Monday December 15, 2014 at his home.

The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday December 19, 2014 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.  They will receive friends other times at the home of his son: David Spain located at 1668 Robersonville Road, Washington.

“Pee Wee” was born in Craven County on March 19, 1948 son of the late Elisha Crumble Spain, Jr. and the late Janie Ruth Jefferson LaMarsh.  He was a 1967 graduate of Chocowinity High School and married the former Julia Ann Dixon on December 21, 1974 who survives.  “Pee Wee” retired as a maintenance electrician from Potash Corp. of Aurora.  He was a voracious reader and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving along with his wife of Washington are two sons: David A. Spain and his wife Rebecca of Washington and Jed M. Spain and his wife Megan of Plymouth; a brother: Sonny LaMarsh of Wilmington; a sister: Joy Craft of Wilmington and four grandchildren: Elijah Spain, Adam McLawhorn, William Wyatt Spain and Allie Mae Spain.
