CHRISTY G. MARSHBURN

 

Christy Lynne Gibson Marshburn, age 46, a resident of 121 Jeff Outlaw Rd., Mt. Olive, NC died Tuesday January 13, 2015 at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville, NC.

A funeral service will be held 1:00p.m. Friday January 16, 2015, at the Washington Assembly of God. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.

Ms. Christy was born in Beaufort County on May 17, 1968 to James Herbert Gibson and Carolyn Jean Squires. Ms. Christy loved to dance, enjoyed her cup of coffee, and helping other people especially her special needs nephew Christopher “Stinky” Singleton. Her true passion was to be around the water where she met her “First Mate” Joe.  Ms. Christy’s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Survivors include her two daughters, Savannah Garner of Chocowinity, and Kaelin Marshburn of Mt. Olive, five grandchildren, Katie Foster, Brianna Braddy, Riley “Peanut” Braddy, Natalie Boyette, and Macon Boyette, two brothers, William Earl Wiggins, and Jerry Drew Singleton II, two sisters, Cassie Jean Singleton, and Emily Wiggins Foster, a mother Carolyn Jean Singleton, a nephew, Christopher “Stinky” Singleton, and her “First Mate” Joe.

The family will receive friends Thursday January 15, 2015 from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory.
