VIOLET LOUISE PHELPS HARDISON PHELPS

Mrs. Violet Louise Phelps Hardison Phelps, 69, defeated her long courageous battle with cancer and joined her Lord and Savior on Wednesday January 14, 2015.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:30 pm at Parkers Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Louise was a very generous person who always was concerned with other’s needs.  She never complained, and had a strong determination to get things done.  She enjoyed crocheting and also being a practical joker.  An immaculate housekeeper who had the ultimate pride in her home.  She was an active and devoted member of Parkers Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.  She adored her grandchildren, each and every one of them.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Paul Hardison, Sr.; and her father, Willie Edward Phelps.

Left to cherish her memory are her: husband, Archie Ambrose Phelps; son, Joseph Paul Hardison, Jr. and wife, Pat, of Plymouth; daughter, Molly Hardison Wells and husband, Mike; son, Frank Hardison and wife, Dawn, all of Williamston; step-daughter, Beverly White and husband, Bruce, of Herndon, VA; grandchildren, Joey, Emily, Paige, Erickson, Jessica, Morgan, Paige and Scott; great-grandchild, Jordan; mother, Violet Louise “Nanny” Phelps; brothers, Billy Phelps and Harry Phelps;

sisters, Willie Mae Ambrose, Lucille Watson-Lawson and Helen Starnes; brother and sister in-laws, Elmo and Violet Phelps, who did everything together; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 pm at Parkers Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
