JULIUS “FRANKIE” JONES

March 27, 1952- Feb. 23, 2015

 

Mr. Julius “Frankie” Jones, age 62, a resident of Edward, NC passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 from an extended illness.  Mr. Jones was born in Beaufort County, NC on March 27, 1952, son of the late Julius Vance Jones and Elsie Lewis Jones Fields, who survives.  On August 10, 1974 Frankie married the former Vickie Lewis who survives.  Survivors in addition to his wife and mother are his daughters, Rhonda Marie Jones (Stacy) and Sabrina Ann Jones of Edward, NC; two sisters, Brenda P. Anderson of Chocowinity, NC and Barbara Jean Jones of Blounts Creek, NC; one brother,  Joseph Donald (Joey) Jones of Blounts Creek, NC and five grandchildren, Dylan Baker, Loveanna Moore, Sylas Jones and Destiny Keys, and Cassiah Jones; mother-in-law, Wilma Lewis and sister-in-law, Toni Lewis, both of Thornhill, TN.   In addition to his father, he was predeceased by two brothers, Terry Glenwood Jones and Timmy Wade Jones.; and his maternal grandparents, Jodie and Molly Lewis.

Frankie was a graduate of Aurora High School, Class of 1971 and was a retired construction welder for PCS Phosphate in Aurora, NC and also past president of the Blueberry Wildlife Club.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family.

A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Edward Christian Church in Edward, NC with David Linton officiating.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home.  A private burial will be held at the Lewis family cemetery, Stilleytown Road, Blounts Creek, NC. Harold Lewis, Terry Keys, Jr., Brad Jones, Tony Lewis, Jr., Ray Lewis, Hal Wayne Sadler, Jeff Hathaway and Hiawatha Keys will serve as pallbearers.  Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to the family c/o Vickie Jones, 304 Main St., Edward, NC  27821.
