Nick Blount was the winner of the contest after reciting 240 digits of pi on Friday, beating last year’s winner by 40 digits. Nick received a gift basket as his prize. Other students memorizing more than 50 digits were: Tiara Howard (57) and Jasmine Speller (60). Members of the Math Club decorated T-shirts before and after school during the week and wore them on Pi Day (March 13) to celebrate. Students also participated in a pi symbol scavenger hunt during the week. Pi symbols were hidden all around the school every day and students who found these symbols received candy.
