RICHARD LARRY BERRY

Richard Larry Berry, 71, of 33119 US 264, Engelhard and most recently a resident of Cross Creek Health Care, died Monday April 6, 2015

Born in Tyrrell County, September 5, 1943 he was the son of the late Carlton Lucas and Marie Swindell Berry, he was married to the former Priscilla Mooney who survives.

He was a member of the Engelhard Christian Church, a 1963 graduate of East Hyde High School. He spent most of his years as a farmer until his retirement and worked several years for Gibbs Enterprises in Engelhard. He served for 30 years with the Engelhard Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed gardening.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the family plot in Fulford Cemetery. Steve Bryan will officiate.

In addition to his wife surviving are two daughters, Tina B. Basnight and husband Eddie of Swan Quarter, Cindy B. Mason and husband David, Jr. of Swan Quarter; a son Richard Larry Berry, Jr., of Engelhard; two grandchildren, Timothy Mason and Laura Basnight both of Swan Quarter; a brother Edwin Berry of Engelhard.

The family will received friends following the service.
