Aug. 22, 1967 – April 22, 2015

 

Mr. Gregory Hunt “Greg” Lewis, age 47, a resident of Washington died Wednesday April 22, 2015 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

A graveside funeral service will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday April 25, 2015 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Dr. Phil Hayes.  Pallbearers will be Tyler Watkins, Tracy Warren, Dean Leitschuh Larry Paul, Tony Hoell and D. R. Alligood.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Winfield, Allen Lewis, Kenneth Lewis and Jerry Leitschuh.

The family will receive friends at the home of Greg’s parents: James and Mary Lou Lewis located at 211 Williamsburg Road, Washington.

Greg was born in Beaufort County on August 22, 1967 son of James D. Lewis and Mary Lou Hunt Lewis.  He was a 1985 graduate of Washington High School and worked with the NC Department of Transportation  as a Lead Project Inspector.  Greg was an avid fisherman who loved hunting and anything pertaining to nature.

Surviving along with Greg’s parents is a son: Gray Wingate Lewis and Gray’s mother Lynn both of Bath; a sister: Christie Lewis Potts and husband Charles; a niece: Morgan Alexandra Potts and a nephew: Latham Gray Potts all of Washington.
