Franklin “Kirby” Haddock

Mr. Franklin “Kirby” Haddock, 70, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at his home. The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.

Mr. Haddock was employed with National Spinning for 13 years and was also a truck driver with Estes Express. He owned and operated Kirby’s Used Cars for 37 years.

Mr. Haddock was a member of Woodmen of the World and Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church. An avid racecar fan, he raced at the Robersonville Track during the early 1990s. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Myrtle Ruth Haddock and a brother, Rayvon Haddock.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Muriel Coward Haddock; sisters-in-law, Judy Woolard and husband, Joe, and Jokay Smith and husband, Dennis; brother-in-law, Pete Coward; and special nephews, Will and Drew Smith; and a great niece, Emma Smith.

The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church, c/o June Haddock, 5370 NC Hwy 102 East, Grimesland, NC 27837.
