TAKING OFF: Bath took its chicken wing-making to a whole new level May 2, as six chefs competed for the “Best Wings in Bath” trophy this year at host restaurant, Blackbeard’s Slices & Ices. Wings of all sorts too center stage — barbequed, grilled, sauteed, marinated, coated in orange marmalade, draped with a creamy bacon and bourbon sauce — as tasters munched on the scrumptious wings and placed their vote.

Byrd Coming was the winner again this year with her creative sauce (left).  So stop by and do your own tasting by trying her wings at Blackbeard’s Slices & Ices. All wings, condiments and paper goods are donated by the community.
