From Washington Pediatrics

Washington Pediatrics is hosting a No Kid Hungry Bake Sale at the Saturday Market on the Washington waterfront on Saturday.
Washington Pediatrics is hosting a No Kid Hungry raffle and bake sale to support No Kid Hungry, a national effort that encourages Americans to host bake sales in their communities to help end childhood hunger. The bake sale is taking place Saturday and the hope is to raise $1,000 through the raffle and bake sale combined.

The community has been very gracious by donating items for our raffle. Some of the businesses that have donated are Russell’s Men’s Shop, Frank’s Pizza, Nauti Life, Hallmark, Food Lion, Bloom Women’s Apparel, The Pink Buoy, Cottage Junkies and others. Gift baskets and other raffle items will be available to bid on the day of the bake sale.
Today, nearly one in five children in America do not know when their next meal will come. That’s more than 16 million! But there is hope. Childhood hunger can be ended. Thanks to programs like bake sales for No Kid Hungry, everyone can do his or her part to help families in our community struggling to make ends meet. Funds raised through Bake Sale for No Kid Hungry support Share Our Strength’s national and local efforts to end childhood hunger in America. The Share Our Strength program helps to close the gap between nutritious food programs and families in need. They help develop lasting solutions — the difference between feeding a child tonight and ensuring they never go hungry again.
Come out to the Farmers Market Saturday to help us support the Share Our Strength program.
