JONATHAN ROWE | DAILY NEWS YOUNG PHILANTHROPISTS: Alaina Moore, a third-grader at John Cotton Tayloe Elementary, and London Evans, a second-grader at Bath Elementary School, each had their hair cut short for the first times in their lives on June 24. The drastic cuts were decided upon after London heard about family members in Florida that had cut their hair and donated it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a national campaign to create free, real-hair wigs for women affected by hair loss from cancer. Each girl ended up with eight inches of hair, which they will mail to the nonprofit, and in turn, will be used to create a wig.
