PANTEGO RURITAN CLUB

President Neil Bowen called the meeting to order, and led the club in the singing of America.

Mickey Benson offered prayer, and everyone enjoyed a meal provided by Hank Stoop.

The roll was taken, and the minutes of the June meeting were approved as read. Mickey Benson then gave the treasurer’s report.

In old business, discussion was held concerning the new procedures needed for the “build your dollar” scholarship requirements. Also discussed was the possible participation in the scholarship-grant program, worth $600. Information will be received from Ruritan National and presented at the August meeting.

President Bowen announced that the pancake sausage breakfast is cancelled for July because many members are taking vacations. A motion was passed stating the club would not participate in the NC Hunters for the Hungry program at this time. Also passed was a motion to have an auction on Oct. 24 at 5 p.m. The details will be finalized in future meetings.

In new business, President Bowen state that information from insurance companies was being collected for price comparisons. Information will be discussed at the next meeting.

President Bowen thanked Mickey and Connie Benson for the donation of a refrigerator other business included reminding the members that election of officers will be in October.

With no further business, everyone said the Pledge of Allegiance, and the meeting was adjourned.
