From the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office

On Aug. 18, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Joseph Veith, 32, of Seafarer Drive in Arapahoe, and Dennis Lupton, 30, of Old Lupton Road in Merritt. They were charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Their arrest stemmed from investigators conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle that Veith was driving. K-9 Elza alerted on the vehicle and investigators conducted a search. Investigators found bindles of heroin under the driver’s seat and passenger’s seat. Veith and Lupton were confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under $2,500 secured bonds.
