Ms. Patricia “Patsy” Ann McRoy, age 70, a resident of 394 Old New Bern Road, Chocowinity, died Sunday, August 30, 2015 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be conducted by Bobby Owens. Burial will follow in the Dixon Cemetery. Michael McRoy, Greg McRoy, Tracy McRoy, Marty Alligood, Todd Alligood and Bruce Downs will serve as pallbearers.

Ms. McRoy was born in Beaufort County to the late Edmond and Annie Hodges McRoy. She was a graduate of Chocowinity and received an associate’s degree in nursing from Beaufort Community College. In December 1999 she retired as a registered nurse with Beaufort County Hospital after 33 years of service. Ms. McRoy was a member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and was a member of the

Senior Sunday School Class.

Survivors include four nieces: Kim Dunn and husband Carl of Stokes, Jenny Perry and husband Bobby of Chocowinity, Connie Gamber and husband William of Washington and Sandy Wayne and husband Tony of Vanceboro; great-nieces and nephews: Courtney Godwin and husband John of Stokes, Devon Jones and husband Matt of Stokes, Holly Perry of Chocowinity, Emily Perry of Chocowinity, Owen Perry of Chocowinity, Melissa Gamber of Washington, Laura Ann Wayne of Vanceboro and Daniel Wayne of Vanceboro; and one great-great-niece: Carli Godwin of Stokes. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edmond D. McRoy Jr., her sister, Carol M. Phelps and one great-great-nephew, Benjamin Godwin.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Jenny and Bobby Perry, 1118 Possum Track Road, Chocowinity.
