Leadell O. Hill, age 94, a resident of Washington, died Thursday, September 10, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Second Baptist Church in Washington, conducted by Rev. Bill Gay. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Glynn Bright, Jim Singleton, Gavin Coley, Dylan Singleton, Nick Steinert and Steve Neal.
Mrs. Hill was born in Beaufort County on May 20, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Joel Benjamin and Margaret Moore O’Ham. Mrs. Hill was one of nine children and is survived by her sister Pauline Hunnings of Greensboro. Mrs. Hill worked as an x-ray technician. She was known for her hand painted collectable Santa’s for which she won several awards.
On April 6, 1940, she married Earl W. Hill. He passed away February 12, 1998. She is survived by her two daughters: Marie Hill Bright and husband Bobby, and Alma Hill Coley and husband Mike, all of Washington; a son: Michael W. Hill and wife Julia of Southport, N.C.; six grandchildren: Jennie Bright Singleton and husband Jim, Glynn Bright, Gavin Coley and wife Emily, Elizabeth Coley McCall and husband Jason, Brad Hill and wife Jenn, Leigh-Ann Hill Neal and husband Steve; ten great-grandchildren: Katelyn and Dylan Singleton, Shanna Steinert, Preston and Grayson Coley, Dalton McCall, Reagan, Aidan, Quinny Hill and Evelyn Neal; and one great-great-grandchild: Sawyer Steinert.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9 PM Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of Alma Coley, 409 Lodge Road, Washington.
