Marjorie Gibbs Sadler, 88, of 20925 US Hwy 264, Swan Quarter, died Monday, September 14, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born in Hyde County April 4, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Will R. and Margaret Ballance Gibbs. She was married to Ottis E. Sadler who survives.

She was a member of Soule United Methodist Church and the former Homemaker Extension Club.

She was known for her baked cookies. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting, but above all she loved to rock her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday at Soule United Methodist Church. Rev. Jerald Craddock and Pastor Mike Wheeler will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot in Soule Cemetery.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Scott R. Sadler and wife Vicki of Swan Quarter; two daughters, Veronica S. Marshall and husband Martelle of Engelhard, Deborah S. Hodges and husband Binnie of Swan Quarter; eight grandchildren, Brandon Marshall and wife Adriane of Engelhard, Justin Marshall and wife Amy of Carolina Beach, Bryan Marshall and wife Abigail of Grimesland, Jake Hodges and wife Shelley Fairfield, Austin Hodges and wife Julie of Swan Quarter, Christie Sadler of Swan Quarter, Nicholas Sadler and wife Mindy of Farmville, Karen Sadler of Swan Quarter; twelve great grandchildren, Ciara, Molly, Makenzie, Kloey, Carsyn, Watson, Vivian, Melanie Grace, Bailey, Kaylee, Rex and Kolin; a brother, Russell Gibbs and wife Faye of Greenville; a sister Celia G. Cahoon of Swan Quarter.

She was preceded in death by a brother Curtis Gibbs and a sister Elsie G. Berry.

The family will receive friends at the home place Wednesday immediately following the service.
