Over the past 10 years, the Washington Noon Rotary club has contributed well over $100,000 to local non-profit organizations.

The money is raised through two major annual events, a Reverse Raffle and the Smoke on the Water festival.

That is what “Service Above Self” means. WNR has donated children’s books and Little Free Libraries in the past few years, put up swing sets on the Washington waterfront and helped to paint the Arts Council caboose.

Rotarians deliver Meals on Wheels and have read to numerous first grade classes in an effort to stay in touch with the community.

If you would like to be a part of this year’s Smoke on the Water festival, please visit online at smokeonthewater.info or call chairperson Pam Anderson at 252-944-6136. Don’t forget to like the Washington Noon Rotary on Facebook.
