From Pungo Christian Academy
Pungo Christian Academy is pleased to announce that DuPont Pioneer donated $5,000 towards its “growing green at PCA” project. The grant will specifically be used to purchase material for the new greenhouse, which was built this past summer. The greenhouse was built with funds raised by the school’s FFA (Future Farmers of America) chapter. Students in grades seventh through 12th will grow and market greenhouse products from tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers to poinsettias, spider plants, Christmas cacti and other ornamental plants. Adrian Boyd, the territory manager at DuPont Pioneer, sponsored this grant.
“DuPont Pioneer strives to make a difference in the communities where customers and employees live and work,” Boyd said “We’re delighted to support this important science education program.”
“We are very appreciative of this $5,000 grant from DuPont Pioneer. With support from great community partners such as Pioneer, our students will be able to learn and experience the growing cycle for many years to come,” said Marcy Morgan, headmistress of Pungo Christian Academy.
