Ernest Leroy Davis Sr.
April 17, 1941 – Sept. 26, 2015

Ernest Leroy Davis Sr., age 74, a resident of Washington, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Roanoke Rehabilitation Center in Williamston. Mr. Davis was born in Beaufort County on April 17, 1941 to the late Ottis L. and Margie Landman Davis.

Mr. Davis attended school in Pantego and was employed with Alligood Owens for 20 years and later with Piggly Wiggly as a bagger for 17 years.  He served his country in the Navy and National Guard.

Mr. Davis is survived by his children, Ernest L. Davis and Gary W. Davis, both of Washington; two brothers, Marvin Daniel Davis of Greenville, NC and Ottis Ray Davis of Williamston, NC; two sisters, Christine Thomas of Wilmington, NC and Pal Hardison of Washington.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday October 12, 2015 at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 U.S. Hwy. 264 East, Washington, NC with Pastor Clifford Ball officiating. The family will receive friends at Hillside Funeral Service one hour prior to the funeral.
