Hugh C. Willard of Raleigh, NC passed away on October 13, 2015 at the age of 73. Born January 5, 1942 in Washington, he led his family to several towns before settling in Raleigh. He received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University. He loved spending time with his family, working on myriad engineering projects and the NCSU Wolfpack. He had a passion for world events, watching Fox News and engaging in debate with anyone daring enough.
Hugh also enjoyed following global business trends and the stock market. He retired from Ericsson GE after a long career as an Electrical Engineer and Technology Director.
He was a southern gentleman who was loved and respected by his family. He is survived by his wife Ann Marie Kostreski Willard; children: Karen Willard, Nicole Scott (Kevin); grandchildren: Clara and Hadley Scott; son Michael Hugh Willard (Carmen) and immeasurable friends and family. He is predeceased by his parents, Edna and Wilmer Willard.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 2:30 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in the St. Mary of the Angels Chapel, located on Leesville Road in Raleigh. It will be immediately followed by a funeral Mass and internment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Transitions Life Care Hospice in Raleigh. Condolences: rfhr.com.
