From Barbara Sullivan, Class of 1965

The Bath High School class of 1965 began its 50^th class reunion on Oct. 10 with breakfast at Old Town Country Kitchen in Bath with 15 classmates and their guests.

Beginning at 6 p.m., the social hour began at the Grange on Terrapin Track Road, east of Washington, with 39 classmates and their guests. Barbara (Keech) Gurkin, Sharon (Williams) Thompson and Linda (Tetterton) Berry greeted guests and distributed nametags and gift bags. Everyone renewed old acquaintances and caught up on happenings over the past 50 years.

A meal of turkey with dressing, roast pork, new potatoes, green snap beans, sweet potato fluff and homemade desserts. It was served and prepared by the Grange and enjoyed by all.

Bennie Ambrose welcomed everyone and conducted the events of the evening. Stanley Steel gave the invocation, and then Wilson Paul did the roll call. A moment of silent meditation was observed in memory of lost classmates: Nelda (Boyd) Tetterton, Mike Cutler, Wayland Black, Katherine (Slade) Godley, Steve Askew, Neil Alligood, Dallas Pinkham, Pat (Hawkins) Harris, Buster Tetterton and Linda (Credle) Lueake. A memorial table also held photographs of the lost classmates.

Barbara (Cox) Sullivan did the business session, which included the financial report, committee meeting updates and memorial fund balance. Classmates discussed having the next class reunion in 2018.

Door prizes donated by class members were passed out by Barbara (Keech) Gurkin, Wilson Paul, Sharon (Williams) Thompson and Barbara (Cox) Sullivan.

Closing prayer was held by James Everett.
