DALACE INMAN SCARY SWIM: On Oct. 23, the Moore Aquatic & Fitness Center hosted Boo Bash Splash. The Center was overflowing with children dressed in costumes, who enjoyed crafts, games, and treats. More than 150 children participated in 'trunk or treat' from vehicle trunks decorated with a variety of themes. Inside in the "Green Lagoon" pumpkins floated in the pool that was dyed green for children to play with along with a scuba diver and inflatable crocodile. Around the pool deck games such as candy coffin, ultimate spider web, trash talk and a walk in the dark were played for candy and prizes. Younger guests enjoyed the kiddie pool complete with plastic pumpkins, witches hat ring toss and a Jack'o'Lantern beanbag game. The community event couldn't have happened without the group of over 25 volunteers and staff. Among the participants were the Washington Parks and Recreation department, City of Washington Public Safety, Eastern Carolina Aquatics, East Carolina Maritime Studies and the Greenville Jaycee's. Many generous members of the center, as well as Sheetz, Walgreens and Wal-Mart, donated candy. Pictured (clockwise, left to right): Tisha Scannell, an employee at the center, hosts a game for attendees at the Boo Bash Splash; an attendee is seen pictured riding an alligator float during the event; and lifeguards Austin Koonce and Caitlyn Andrews pose for a photo just before the event starts.
