Aug. 20, 1931 – Dec. 3, 2015 

Mrs. Peggy Joyce Foreman Godley, age 84, a resident of Chocowinity, died Thursday, December 3, 2015 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Fifteenth Street Church of God and will be conducted by Pastor Randy Wallace. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Thomas Earl Waters, Andrew Clark, Jim Wood, Gary McSweeney, Billy Coward and Christopher Daughtry will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Godley was born in Beaufort County on August 20, 1931 to the late George and Addie Foreman. On August 23, 1945 she married Joseph Jasper “Joe” Godley who preceded her in death on August 7, 2005. She was a member of Fifteenth Street Church of God, where she taught Sunday school, sang duets with her husband and served in the ladies auxiliary.

Survivors include her daughter, Sonja G. Waters and husband Adrian of Chocowinity, one grandson, Darrin L. Waters and wife Annitte of Cumming, GA and two great-grandchildren, Logan L. Waters and Emma Waters. She was preceded in death by two brothers, George T. Foreman and Beryl T. Foreman.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
