Letter to the editor: The global warming debate

To the Editor,
With much effort, I was able to get my bald head out of the sand on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, and read the drivel expressed by the Pamlico-Albermarle Wildlife president on your editorial page.
Over 50 years ago, in our own Beaufort County schools, we students were fed the urgent agenda of rising tides due to the rapidly melting polar ice caps. This was before it was called Global Warming or repackaged as Climate Change. Belhaven was to be underwater by now and Beaufort County would be oceanfront property.
Mr. Nemecz, our modern day “Chicken Little,” did mention one thing I agree with, though. Our country desperately needs leadership from our churches to share the truth with us. The same ignorance that led to a “flat earth” mentality centuries ago has created a population today that thinks this world just happened by accident and is going to last forever. Meanwhile, the infallible word of God tells us He made this earth round and He is going to destroy it when He wants. I want to thank Mr. Nemecz for helping me to get my head out of the sand, waking up and becoming an activist for the truth.
Sincerely,
Randy Moore
