From Hyde County Board of Elections

Candidates seeking election to county offices in Hyde County may file a notice of candidacy at the Hyde County Board of Elections, located on the second floor of the Government Center in Swan Quarter. The primary election will be conducted on March 15.

The filing period began at 12 p.m. on Dec. 1 and will close at 12 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 21. All notices of candidacy and filing fees must be received by the Hyde County Board of Elections by 12 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 21.

County offices on the 2016 primary ballot include: County Commissioner-Fairfield Township; County Commissioner-Ocracoke Township; County Commissioner-Lake Landing Township; two seats for Board of Education; two seats for Engelhard Sanitary District; two seats for Ocracoke Sanitary District; and two seats for Swan Quarter Sanitary District.
