Mrs. Lorina Cutler Modlin, age 78, went to be with her Lord on December 23, 2015. Mrs. Modlin was a seamstress and later a salesperson at Belk’s in Williamston, and earlier in life, for many years, she farmed right beside her husband, Dallas Modlin. She and Dallas had just celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary this past June. Lorina enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and sewing. She also loved cooking for friends and family which was enjoyed by so many over the years.
Mrs. Modlin is survived by her husband Dallas; her sons Samuel Modlin of Greenville, Norman Modlin and wife Lilah of Manassas, Virginia, and Gary Modlin of Jamesville; her daughters, Anita Modlin, of Greenville and Janice McGowan and husband Lee of Greenville; her grandchildren Casey Modlin of Greenville, Christopher Modlin, who lives in China, Kayla Modlin of Manassas, Virginia, and Jordan McGowan of Greenville, N.C.; her sisters Nellie Mae Cutler of Pinetown, Jannie Smith of Belhaven, and Sylvia Hill, of Pasadena, Maryland. She was also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Earl Cutler and Nellie Congleton Cutler; her brothers Edward Earl Cutler and Terry Cutler.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Cedar Branch Baptist Church in Jamesville with visitation Saturday, December 26, 2015 from 6 till 8 P.M. at Cedar Branch Baptist Church. Burial will be in Jamesville Cemetery. Friends will be received at other times at the home at 3595 Brown Road, Jamesville, NC.
Flowers are accepted or donations can be made to the Jamesville, N.C. Fire and Rescue Squad.
