A man reported missing on Wednesday was found deceased on Thursday by investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a press release from Lt. Wesley Waters, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, Harvey Lee Crisp Jr., 51, was reported missing by a family member on Wednesday. The family member told investigators that Crisp had left his home on Isabella Avenue in Washington Park to return to work in Northern Virginia on Dec. 27, but had not shown up to work, the release stated.
Chief Deputy Charlie Rose said Crisp had residences in both states and moved back and forth between them due to work.
Through information obtained during investigation, those searching for Crisp were led to the Tranter’s Creek Wildlife ramp located on Clark’s Neck Road in Washington. Sidney Dive Team was called in to assist, and divers found Crisp during the search, according to the press release.
Rose said more information about the events leading up to Crisp’s death would be forthcoming.
“We’re still working on a couple of things that are putting the timeline in place,” Rose said. “There are couple things we need to verify before we release that information. … We had some pretty specific information that led to the creek today.”
Both the press release and Rose stated that the death does not appear to be suspicious.
“Absolutely all signs are that there’s no foul play involved,” Rose said.
