Mr. James Wesley Baugh, age 57, a resident of Blounts Creek, died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at his home.
A memorial service will be at a later time and will be announced by Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.
Mr. Baugh was born in Arlington County, VA on March 1, 1958, the son of the late Marion Harvey Baugh and the late Edna Earl Ray Baugh. His family moved to N.C. from Falls Church, VA in 1973. He graduated Washington High School in 1976 and received an Associate Degree from Martin Community College. Mr. Baugh married the former Lauren Sinclair who survives. He worked for PCS Phosphates for many years as a land surveyor. He was famous for his dry sense of humor. Mr. Baugh loved history, especially the Civil War; he participated in a group that performed re-enactments in many different places. Mr. Baugh also had a love for animals, dogs, cats and chickens. In his spare time he cleaned and repaired firearms and reloaded ammo, which was his true passion.
Survivors include a sister: Elizabeth Eaton and husband Chuck of Washington; a cousin: Sid Cundiff of Winston-Salem; two nephews: Don Ambrose of Washington and his children: Jaramy Burrus of Corpus Christi, TX, Tracy Ambrose of Greenville, N.C., Roxann Ambrose, Travis Ambrose and Noah Ambrose, all of Washington, Matt Ambrose and wife Adriana of Arapahoe and their son Diego.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made to a charity of one’s choice.
