Write Again . . . Such big little words

Two of the biggest words in our language — and in whatever form they may take in any other language — are “thank you.”
About this I suspect there’s little or no disagreement. Should we even attempt to make a list of those most of us believe deserve, at the very least, a “thank you,” it would be very lengthy, indeed.
Most of us, one might reasonably believe, wish we could have one more opportunity to thank some/many who have gone on to the next life. Let us hope, believe, that they are aware even now of such feelings.
In this regard it seems the best we can do is to make sure we don’t neglect to do this to those so deserving who are still among us.
Certainly there are family members who need to hear “thank you,” some quite often. “Thank you” for the little things. “Thank you” for those very big things, not the least of which is for simply loving us.
I believe I should say, even again, “thank you” to Ray McKeithan, formerly of the “Daily News,” who gave me the opportunity, after such a very long hiatus, to once again write a column in these pages.
To Ashley Vansant “thank you” also for allowing me to continue this modest endeavor.
Especially “thank you” to Vail Rumley, whose talents and work ethic are truly remarkable. The paper, and its readers, are fortunate she is in the role of news editor. I know I am the beneficiary of her patience and understanding, especially as we often struggle with the frustrations of the world of computer technology.
Among those to whom I should say “thank you,” not the least of these is you, friends. The readers. Were you not there, then there would be no need for “Write Again.” (Of course, there are those who, I am sure, could get along quite well, thank you, without my weekly offerings. And God bless them too.)
So. Please let me suggest that you sincerely and simply say “thank you” to someone today. Say it to several someones. They’ll appreciate it.
Besides, it’ll make you feel good.
Thank you.
