Kaylee Hollowell (above) was born Feb. 29 at 7:23 p.m., weighing 6 pounds and 9.6 ounces, and measuring 18.25 inches long. She is pictured with her mother, Kathrine Arnold of Stonewall, and her father is Jacob Hollowell. Kaylee’s mom said she was due on Feb. 28 and feels that having a Leap Day baby is “unique.” Although she’s not sure when she will celebrate her daughter’s birthday, “either way, she will be spoiled.”
Elliott Smith (below) was born Feb. 29at 11:08 a.m., weighing 8 pounds and 12 ounces, and measuring 21 inches long. She is shown with her mother, Caroline Easterling of Chocowinity, and her father is Matthew Smith. When asked how she felt about having a Leap Day baby, Elliott’s mom said she considers it “sweet and unique.” She was expecting a Leap Day baby because Smith kept predicting it during the pregnancy, despite her due date being March 7. They plan to celebrate Elliott’s birthday on Feb. 28 and March 1 every year, except on Leap Years they will celebrate on Feb. 29.
