From Arts of the Pamlico

If one has ever considered being in the movies, Arts of the Pamlico will be offering a “Film Acting” workshop on March 22. This two-hour workshop, from 6-8 p.m., will offer information on how to get started in film acting. Current information regarding casting agencies, talent agencies and opportunities for extra and stand-in work will also be covered during the workshop. All information will be pertinent to current productions in the region, particularly the Wilmington area.

Instructor for the workshop will be Steve Myott. Steve is a former member of the teaching faculty of East Carolina University. He has worked on more than 20 feature film and television projects. He has worked in feature film casting as well as acting himself. Steve has taught film acting classes privately, and for the American Studio of Acting, as well as the Talent Source Actor’s Training Center in Wilmington.

According to Myott, two television film series will begin production in Wilmington this spring, and extras are always being called upon to help fill scenes.

The workshop fee is $20, and is open to anyone interested ages 14 and older. To register, call AOP at 252-946-2504 or visit us at 150 W. Main St. at the Turnage Theatre in downtown Washington.
