To the Editor,
Why would anyone not want to support our veterans? Here we go again, just like the Vietnam era, turning our back on the veterans!
We have an opportunity in Belhaven to help veterans and our neighbors by opening the Pungo Medical Center for better health care for everyone. It’s a win-win situation. The four managers of the Pantego Creek LLC could be the heroes and turn over the deed to the hospital. It would help our town, our neighbors and our veterans.
I am a 30-year veteran of the military, and I am writing to support the plan put forth by Pungo Medical Center to provide eastern North Carolina with urgently needed veterans’ health care. I am appalled that anyone would not support this plan.
Stand up for the men and women in uniform who have put their lives on the line for our freedoms.
