Belhaven rolls out plan for veterans care

CAROLINE HUDSON | DAILY NEWS VETERANS AFFAIR: Belhaven veterans and residents gathered Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. for a press conference with Mayor Adam O’Neal and Mike Hall, an Army veteran from Virginia Beach. Hall spoke to the crowd about his plans to offer veterans care once the town is able to reopen the hospital. Hall said he is affiliated with Strategic Health Care LLC, which is managed by Illinois-based People’s Choice Hospital Management. People’s Choice is not affiliated with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), but has a contract with VA to care for veterans and wants to do so with 30-35 beds at the Belhaven hospital, he said.
