Bath and Northeast elementary schools perform in honor band

NORTHEAST ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
BAND TOGETHER: On March 10, students from Bath and Northeast elementary schools combined into one honor band to perform before three judges in Jacksonville, N.C. Students from both schools auditioned and then worked together for several afterschool rehearsals to prepare three pieces of music. Directed by Jenifer Hutson, this combined honor band was awarded the highest rating a band is able to receive, a superior. The group is now preparing to travel to Yorktown, Virginia, on May 13 to present its program and compete with other bands from other states. Students participating in this Northern Beaufort County Symphonic Band include: (eighth grade) Ke’Shayla Arthur, Matthew Cullom, Rachael Daleo, Jakyla Harvey, Carson Hasty, Danyell Hicks, Ve’Era Holloway, Katie Hopkins, Chris Martin, Jazmine Saunders, Regiana Selby, Chase Smith, Jacob Van Gyzen, Antonio Winfield, Ronnie Winfield, Victoria Woolard; (seventh grade) Noah Andrews, Brianna Cox, Reagan Dana, Takeria English-Jeffires, Joy Fitchett, James Gorham, Ashten Harper, Nick Jordan, Alex Latham, Edgar Lopez, Jules Moore, Gracie Morris, Alex Plasencia, Daniela Rodriguez, Matthew Satterfield, Alex Wallace, Nicholas Williard; (sixth grade) Zachary Bond, Arie DeHoog and Jake Roberson. The band is currently seeking sponsors and donations for its trip to Virginia in May.
