JOHN SMALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
BOOK FAIR: Ashley Coward, media coordinator of John Small Elementary School, put her heart and soul into planning for the school’s Annual Book Fair, which was held on March 14-21. On March 10-11, special Teacher Preview Days allowed teachers to get a sneak peek at what was being offered to the students, and also gave teachers a chance to fill out a wish list for items they may want for their classrooms. Students were able to shop throughout the week for their Scholastic Books items or novelties. The 2016 theme was “Peace, Love and Books,” and all were invited to join in the fun that Spirit Week held in store, whether it was in comfy pajamas on Mellow Monday or in tie-dye T-shirts on Tie-Dye Tuesday. Wacky Hair Wednesday brought out hair gel, hair spray and wigs, while Throwback Thursday showcased far-out threads from the 1960s or 1970s. The week ended with everyone feeling a little groovy on Fringe Friday. It was happy reading for all!
