Farmers’ group attends seminar in Brazil

Young Farmer and Rancher member Ryan Cahoon, of Kilkenny community in Tyrrell County, joined a group of farmers that attended a seminar in Brazil in January.
Cahoon and the others toured farm communities, inspected farm machinery, and flew over the Iguacu Falls. They learned many ways that farming is done differently in another country and attended seminars that enhanced their leadership skills and farm strategies.
Cahoon is currently enrolled in leadership classes at NC State University. He also serving on the NC Soybean Producers Association and the American Soybean Association’s World Initiative for Soy and Human Health.
Cahoon, along with fellow farmers Daniel and Debbie Spruill, represented Tyrrell County at the annual Young Farmers & Ranchers Conference in Durham on January 30-31, sponsored by North Carolina Farm Bureau.
