Mr. William Robert “Bob” Edwards Sr., 86, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM at Pinewood Memorial Park.

Mr. Edwards graduated from Pactolus High School. After graduation, he entered the United States Air Force, becoming a flight engineer for B29 bombers. After he left the Air Force, he came back home to Pactolus and pursued farming and ranching.  While continuing to raise cattle, Bob began a career in construction.  After retiring, he continued his love of cattle ranching until his recent illness.  He was a member of Pactolus Baptist Church.

Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Briley Edwards; parents, Paul and Hattie S. Edwards; and brothers, Jim and Charles Edwards.

He is survived by his sons, Bill Edwards and wife, Cindy, of Bath, and Eric P. Edwards of Ayden; 4 grandchildren, Robbie, Rebecca, Paul and Hannah Edwards; and brother, Jack G. Edwards and wife, Ruth, of Garner.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
