Martha Ann Tyson Woolard
July 24, 1933 – April 23, 2016

Martha Ann Tyson Woolard, 82, of 540 Griffin-Hodges Road, Washington, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 in her home. Ms. Woolard was born on July 24, 1933, the daughter of Gertrude Haddock and Louis Henry Tyson. She married Redden “R.L.” Louis Woolard Sr. on January 17, 1949.

Surviving include her three sons: Redden Louis Woolard Jr. and his wife Barbara, James Earl Woolard and Billy Ray Woolard, all of Washington; her sister Hazel Tyson Edwards of Grimesland; her brother William Tyson of Greenville; her two grandchildren James Cody Woolard and Caroline Renee Woolard; two step-grandchildren Chris Robinson and Jason Robinson; and three great-grandchildren Jase, Lily and Reese.

A celebration of Ms. Woolard’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in Snowd Branch Church of God with Pastors Jack Holloman and Jerry Waters officiating. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour.
