The Reverend Linwood Floyd Conner, 79, of 21655 NC #125, Williamston, North Carolina, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 11, 2016.  He was the second child and first son of Roger Emmett Conner and Pearl Irene Conner of Williamston, who preceded him in death. He was born in Pitt County, NC, on February 25, 1937.

He was a graduate of Holmes College of the Bible in Greenville, SC and was married to the love of his life, Jean Audrey Nicholson Conner on June 28, 1959 upon his graduation from school.

He was a well-loved and well-known Pastor serving faithfully for 45 years at several churches in the North Carolina Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, with his last pastorate being the wonderful people of the Merritt’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness in Oak City, NC. He was the dedicated and precious “daddy” of one daughter, Terrie Jean Conner Callicutt, 56, of Raleigh, NC, and two sons, Linwood Floyd Conner II, 54, and Christopher Conner, 47, of Greenville, NC.

He was the beloved “Granddaddy” to Joshua Conner Callicutt and wife Courtney of Royston, GA, Michael Kent Callicutt and wife Lanie of Atlanta, GA, Blaire McKenzie Conner, Mikayla Lee Conner, Emily Rose Conner and Audrey Grace Conner, all of Greenville, NC. He was to celebrate the birth of his first great-grandson in October of this year.

Surviving siblings are Mavis Lee Conner Pope of Leland, NC, and Jean Conner Wheeler of Narrows, VA. He was “Uncle Buck” to seven nephews and four nieces along with several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two siblings, Annie Ruth Manning and Roger Lee Conner of Martin County.

Services will be held Sunday, May 15, 2016, at the Williamston First Pentecostal Holiness Church on North Haughton Street, Williamston. Visitation will be held starting at 2:00pm, with a “Celebration of Life” service immediately following at 3:00pm. There will be no graveside service.

Arrangements are by Biggs Funeral Home of Williamston, N.C.
