Stanley Ray Drake, “Ray,” 62, formerly of Washington, has passed away. He had been residing in Florida the past few years. He was the son of the late R.L. Drake and Mildred H. Drake.

Ray had a passion for the arts and performing. During the heyday of the local community theatre in the 90s, he appeared in numerous stage productions. In many of these plays, he teamed up with his older brother, Lee Drake.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents and older sister, Casandra. He is survived by two brothers, Lee and Tommy of Washington, an older sister Carolyn Somers and her husband Freddie of Virginia, and sister-in-law LaVon Drake of Washington.

He is also survived by three nephews, Nathan Drake, Hayden Drake and Brae Somers and a niece Alison Somers Simon.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
