Bay Harbour friends and neighbors paid tribute to the memory of Wendy Rawlings on March 31 by hosting their annual Backwards Dinner in her honor. One of Wendy’s favorite sayings was “Life is short, eat dessert first!” Each year since her passing in 2012, they have done just that. Wendy believed in giving back and logged numerous volunteer hours for various charitable causes. To honor Wendy’s passion, her friends and neighbors have chosen to donate to Ruth’s House, the local shelter for victims of domestic abuse. After enjoying “dessert first”, followed by dinner and an evening of fellowship, cars were loaded with donations of essential items from the Ruth’s House wish list, as well as generous monetary donations. Many thanks to the ladies from the Bay Harbour Womens Group, “The Juliets”, for their generosity. For more information about how you can help support Ruth’s House, call 252-940-0007.
