An Aurora man is the last of a handful of suspects arrested in connection with an April robbery and shooting in the Edward area.
Glen Curtis Gardner Jr., 32, was arrested Wednesday by Greenville police and charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied property and one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Gardner was transferred to the Beaufort County jail and is being held on a $1.5 million bond.
Chief Deputy Charlie Rose, of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, said Gardner was the instigator in the April 15 incident.
“From the information that we have, he was the main player in the game,” Rose said. “He had the biggest role in the crime.”
He said law enforcement officials from Beaufort and Pitt counties combined resources and worked together to track down Gardner at a location in Winterville.
“The task force in Greenville has resources that we do not have (in) Beaufort County,” Rose said. “From time to time, we call them to see if they can assist. … Law enforcement agencies work together all the time.”
“Crime and criminals, they don’t care about jurisdiction,” he added.
