Mrs. Rebecca G. Latham, age 80, a resident of Pinetown, died Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Autumnfield of Belhaven.

The family will have private memorial services at a later date.

Mrs. Latham was born in Oconee County, South Carolina, on June 1, 1936 to the late Abb and Della Poe Gentry. On June 5, 1955, she married William Alson Latham Sr., who preceded her in death on January 8, 2008. She was a 1954 graduate of Walter Williams High School and attended Appalachian State University. She was employed for 20 years with Burlington Industries, 20 years with American Media International and was a former owner/operator of Blackbeard’s.

Survivors include one daughter, Libby Latham Embler and husband David of Belhaven, one son, William Alson Latham Jr. and wife Sue of Blue Springs Missouri, one sister, Hilda Cheek and husband Wilkie of Graham, one brother, Joe Gentry of Asheboro, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
